Biography & Archives

Henk was born in the Netherlands in 1940 and spent the first part of his life there.  In 1952 he emigrated with his family to South Africa.  After 27 years he returned to the Netherlands and in 1984 he moved to England.  He is primarily a self taught artist, although he studied for one year at both the Bill Ainsley School of Art and the Johannesburg Art College.  The paintings below give examples of how his career as an artist developed.  Please click on the paintings to enlarge.
